Common LUre Choices for Pros

Common Lure Choices for Bass Pros are based on observations made watching MLF Pro Tournaments starting 2023. For details, see the Acute MLF Pro Tournament Breakdown.

Why are Pros' Common Lure CHoices Important?

Pro’s Common Lure Choices are important to:

  • Better Understand Pro Bass Fishing: Pro’s choice varies based on many factors but overall professional anglers will use some lure types more often than other lure types. This changes over time often based on new technology. Understanding the pro’s choices may assist others in lure selection.
  • Provide Insights for Experienced Anglers: Most experienced anglers have confidence in specific lure types and understanding pro’s choices may assist in gaining further understanding and confidence. Also, there is the potential of adding new lure types to an experienced angler’s portfolio.
  • Provide Starting Points for Developing Anglers: Pro’s choice can help new anglers understand what lure’s to start with.
Common Lure Choices Options
  • Common: Observed frequent use by multiple pro anglers at multiple tournaments.
  • Less Common: Observed usage by few anglers at a few tournaments.
  • Not Common: Observed infrequent usage by a small number of anglers at a few tournaments.
Additional Considerations
  • Detailed Information from the Pros: At the end of each tournament up to 10 anglers discuss their lure decisions and influencers. See Acute MLF Pro Tournament Breakdown.
  • Tournament Coverage Focuses More on Success then Usage: As the coverage focuses on lures that have been successful the results may not totally reflect the lures actually used during the tournaments.
