  • Habitat: Leeches live mainly reside on the bottom with preferences for warm, protected shallow areas where currents are minimal and shelter is provided by grass, rock and wood.
  • Behavior: The majority of leeches can swim using a seamless, wavelike movements similar to an eel. They initiate the process by using their anterior suckers to pressure them away from surfaces such as stones
