Repetitions is casting repetitively to a high percentage spot or to a location to which a bass has been identified either by sight fishing or with electronics.
Why is Repetitive Casts to the Same SPot Important?
Repetition can be important for:
Target Spawning Bass: Casting to the same spot can irritate a spawning bass to bite the lure.
Inactive Bass: Some suggest that inactive bass that are eating opportunistically can require multiple presentations to trigger a strike.
Blow-ups: Casting to the same spot as a blow up, a missed bite, allowing the bass a second chance.
Curious Bass: The initial cast may have caused an inactive bass to move to that location to investigate thus the bass will be ready for the second cast.
Different Lures: Try different lures, for example start with a surface contact lures water and then follow with a different presentation.
Different Angles: Some suggest targeting the same spot but from different angles.
Topwater Blowups: Whenever a blowup occurs follow up with the same top water to the same spot multiple times then follow up with a bottom contact lure – or a follow-up bait.
Followers: Bass that follow a lure to the boat.
Immediate Repetition: Some believe repeated cast to a bass that followed the previous cast can be effective either with the same lure and/or a follow-up bait.
Return Later: Some believe a follower once it has seen the boat will not bite any lure and suggest marking the spot and return later. (with a different lure).
Electronics Show Fish: When electronics are showing fish and they are not biting some say to try: different lures, different angles, different speeds, change lure types and lure sizes.
Drop a Camera: If identified fish are not biting some suggest using a camera to double check the species.
Additional Considerations
Floating/Matted Grass and other Thick Cover: Multiple casts may be required in the same spot as the view is obstructed for the bass and as such the first casts alert the bass to the lure and get it interested.
Co-Angler Theory: In some cases the co-angler fishing the same area catches more or large bass where the theory is the first casts alerted the bass to the potential forage and initiated interest.

Follow-Up Bait Generally, repetitive casts is using the same lure. Albeit any appropriate lure can be tried is commonly suggested to use a follow-up bait under most circumstances.
